So
this is the second time (that I know of) that the bidding and buying
haven't worked when a painting went live on eBay. The bid/buy buttons
just aren't there! I'm so sorry some of you are having problems with it!
I ended the auction of "hey Baby." so the collector who was trying to
Buy it Now could buy it through paypal. Just wanted to let you know in
case you were looking for it to bid. Please let me know if you ever have
issues! Thank you all for your continued support and passion! Sharie
(for Kimberly)
So, Sharie (my sister, my assistant, my boss) keeps asking me when I'm going to
announce that I've moved to San Luis Obispo, CA. But every time I try to find
words to describe this place... I cannot. "Beautiful" comes to mind, but that
fails to explain exactly how incredible this area is. Forgive me. I'm a visual
artist and words can be elusive sometimes. So here's a song. A song that I like
a lot. It has been a long and stressful--and thrilling--move, and this song got
me through. There are countless kind souls to thank. A special thank you, of
course, to Sharie, who keeps me going and continues to be my "woman behind the
curtain." Also a special thank you to Daniel's sister, Margaret, for laundry, a
stocked fridge, and a place to lay our weary heads while we apartment hunted.
And love to my partner, Daniel. We did it, Baby! We did it!
(today's painting is at the bottom of this post!)
"California
Stars"
I'd like
to rest my heavy head tonight
On a bed of California stars
I'd like to lay my weary bones tonight
On a bed of California stars
I'd love to feel
Your hand touching mine
And tell me why
I must keep working on
Yes I'd give my life
To lay my head tonight on a bed
Of California stars
I'd like to dream
My troubles all away
On a bed of California stars
Jump up from my starbed
Make another day
Underneath my California stars
They hang like grapes
On vines that shine
And warm the lovers' glass
Like friendly wine
So I'd give this world
Just to dream a dream with you
On our bed of California stars
I'd like to rest my heavy head tonight
On a bed of California stars
I'd like to lay my weary bones tonight
On a bed of California stars
I'd love to feel
Your hand touching mine
And tell me why
I must keep working on
Yes I'd give my life
To lay my head tonight on a bed
Of California stars
I'd like to dream
My troubles all away
On a bed of California stars
Jump up from my starbed
Make another day
Underneath my California stars
They hang like grapes
On vines that shine
And warm the lovers' glass
Like friendly wine
So I'd give this world
Just to dream a dream with you
On our bed of California stars
So I'd give this world
Just to dream a dream with you
On our bed of California stars
---NUTSHELL BIO--- I earned my BFA from the Art Academy of Cincinnati in 1999 and participated in the New York Studio Program through Parsons. I've schlepped a backpacker's easel across Europe trying to connect to my "painter ancestors"--they weren't kidding about the light in south of France. And if I ever win an Oscar for painting I will thank Vermeer, Kahlo, Hopper, Richter and Barney, to name just a few.
